Entry Four

The reason I chose this book is because it was different form the usual I read which are fantasy and realistic fiction which can be boring after awhile! Then in the library I came across this black book with a beautiful cover and name so I picked it up. Meeting the requirements of the summer reading project and my personal own haha; I sat down and starting reading straight away. Some connections I see I have is with the main character Gemma she trust people easily and can be very stubborn like me. She also gets quite nervous around cute boys haha like me also and most girls. She can also be determined which is a quality im still trying to obtain but I value it in her it helps her a lot in the story; But when she loves she loves with her heart! I also connect with Ty he can sneaky like me but very outgoing and lovable after you meet him. Hes also shy around the ladies which I really enjoy takes away from the charming male character you always see in love stories. I would recommend this book to people who like mystery love stories because duh! its a mystery love story which has many twist and turns that keep you guessing and wanting more while watching two opposites fall in love. Opposites do attract haha!

Entry Three

"You pulled me to you again, tilting my face and saying something. Everything about you was fuzzy, floating on the fumes of the bins. Your beautiful mouth was moving like a caterpillar. I reached out and tried to catch it. you took my fingers in yours..." ~(Stolen, Christopher) Pg. 10 I like this passage from my new book Stolen because it shows how connected Gemma is to Ty and it has a lot of imagery which is very creative and lots of cute metaphors. I also chose this because I think its one of many vivid paragraphs in the book that is my true favorite out of all of them. Also you can make a lot of inferences to what's going on by reading this paragraph which I think is awesome. my other favorite piece is "You kept feeding me chocolates. That rich, dark taste... always in my mouth, clinging to my teeth. Before you, I loved chocolate." I like the mystery it has behind it that kept me more interested in the book and wanting to know how he made her not like chocolate anymore. This was an amazing book that kept me going on and on to find out more hope you read it!

Entry One

In the new book i'm reading called Stolen by Lucy Christopher; my major characters in the story are Gemma a 16 year-old girl from Britain then there's the mysteriously handsome Ty. I just love the setting it takes place in a Australian dessert away from civilization for miles. Gemma just wanted to meet up with her parents on the airport so they could go on there family trip; stopping for a cup of coffee, Ty pays for it and talks to Gemma waiting for her to take a sip from the coffee he drugged. The drugs take affect and he makes his move and gets away with taking her to his cabin in the Australian dessert. Some predictions I have are Ty's intentions aren't what they seem so far he's treated Gemma kindly like he loves her; but she only believes he's out to kill her at any moment. I just want to know if Gemma is ever going to escape? What are Ty's intentions with Gemma? Does he love her? This book reminds me of those obsession movies you see on Lifetime Movie Network there's so many to name! By the looks of it this book is better than any lifetime movie

Entry Two

In my new book stolen the desires of Ty is to get Gemma to love him and to stay with him and to trust that he would never hurt her and he only wants the best kinda like a father figure. Gemma desires to escape far far away from Ty and to not trust a thing he says and try not to anger him and get killed or hurt. Themes im starting to notice are love comes in many forms and people will take it to great lengths to prove there love to someone like for example Ty kidnapping Gemma to Australia. I like the theme I chose because it isn't Cliché and different from other typical themes you hear in books all the time. The structure of my book is in letter form from Gemma to Ty explaining how she feels and her experiences being with him in great detail. I like the structure of this book because it different and it gives the side of the story from the captor but one thing I would change is getting a mixture of Ty's side of the story maybe that can be the idea of book two! In other words the author better start writing book two!

Any Book recommendation's?

Slowly loosing more and more interest in my current book the The secret life of bees  I think its time for a break up.  I been too consumed in it and I think I need to spread out in my genres. I typically stick with my realistic fiction and fantasy novels because they tend to be more interesting in my opinion. So comment what you think I would like or just recommend a book your already read and love! I cant wait to see all the new titles you give me!

Krista Ramsey

My teacher seemed really excited about her coming to our school to speak so i might as well read up on some of her articles. Krista Ramsey some may know her others may not;Well just in case if your Literary inclined she is a columnist For Cincinnati Enquirer. A recent Article i read which was the link below (\http://www.cincinnati.com/story/opinion/columnists/krista-ramsey/2014/02/08/krista-our-kids-tell-the-story-of-why-preschool-is-a-must/5328181/) it talks about how preschool is important in a child's early education so they can be ready for kinder garden. In my personal experience i can connect to this. My mother told me i went to preschool and what i can remember i think it actually helped. Now as for my little brother he didn't go to preschool; He struggled in kinder garden and now as a first grader he is struggling more to catch up to the other kids even when hes the biggest in his whole class. My mom preached to me ton put my children in preschool and now is see why. This line really stuck out to me because its a good example of why kids should go to preschool "Now she ranks advanced or very advanced on every measure of kindergarten readiness. She can connect letters to sounds. She's doing beginning addition. And she knows how to handle a disappointment, separate easily from her mom or dad every morning, confront a friend who's being mean." Just by going to  preschool young kids like Ashley can accomplish many things that can help them in the future grades.

Now were moving along!

"Sometimes you want to fall on your knees and thank god in heaven for all the poor news reporting that goes on in the world." This is my favorite quote so far in The Secret Life of Bees Lily breaks Rosaleen out of prison and our now trying to go to Tiburon, South Carolina to see if anyone knew here estranged mother.  I'm really starting to like Lily more and disliking Rosaleen; Lily is very strong character in the book she had the courage to run away from her seemingly abusive household and risk her life to save Rosaleen's. They soon Meet the Calender Sisters as everyone in that town calls them due to there names; August the oldest, June the middle then May who had a twin named April but sadly committed suicide when they were younger. I'm getting really engaged into this book and love every word of it.

Update

I thought this book would burn out after awhile but pushing through page by page I seem to have gotten addicted. So far in my book, its Lily's birthday. her father being stubborn and not letting her do anything, she leaves for a walk across town with their maid Rosaleen. Doesn't sound like much of a birthday does it? Well to Lily it means the world to her to get out for her birthday and so far shes enjoying every second. A thing I noticed though is that there is a tad of racism (the books setting dates back to 1964 so it ties in). At times the racism can be a bit instigating it adds more volume if you wanna to the characters who deal with it like Rosaleen for example. Lily and Rosaleen stop in the church on the hot day to cool off; soon the preacher saw them both and he didn't look to happy to see Rosaleen.
"Then he saw Rosaleen and started to rub the bald space on his head with such agitation I thought he might rub down to the skull bone." in this quote it shows the preacher is agitated or uncomfortable with Rosaleen's presence which lily can clearly see. another incident is when lily and Rosaleen go to this place so Rosaleen can vote and three men harass Rosaleen saying racial slurs (ones better off not typed in quote due to its nature and controversy) lily tried her best to protect Rosaleen but she was too stubborn and spoke back to the men. I had to cut off there cause I don't wanna spoil too much but this book deals with a lot and I absolutely love it!

Why We Broke Up

"Its not you its me." Too any teenager (with a social life) these are the worst words you could ever hear  from your boyfriend or girlfriend besides the other common quote "I'm pregnant" (Yikes!). In my new book I'm reading called Why We Broke Up.  Its about a girl (who I later found out is called min) gives her boyfriend or soon to be Ex-Boyfriend a letter explaining why they are breaking up. She also leaves this box with different knick knacks that she kept over the course of there relationship (she explains in the letter how they all tie together). So far what I come to in the book is pretty good and I enjoy it. My ABSOLUTE favorite quote so far int he book has to be “I'm writing it in a letter, the whole truth of why it happened. And the truth is that I goddamn loved you so much.”
Daniel Handler, Why We Broke Up. It describes how hard it is for her to write this letter because she dearly loved him but she feels breaking up with him this way is the best for him and her. I cant wait to read more and I will be sure to update soon!

The secret life of bees

Cruising the book shelf in my English teachers classroom I saw a book that looked oh so familiar. It was called The Secret Life of Bees. Its about this young girl who's mother sadly dies when she is 4 years. her death is vague to her but her father or T ray as she calls him for some strange reason. This books setting is dated back to 1964 back when black and whites didn't have the same Rights so it has some historical factors to it. Lily (the main character) then leaves with these African American girls who teach her the property of life and to be a strong independent woman.

So far what I have gotten out the book has been amazing its not what you expect from it. I truly feel sad for the girl as if shes really real and if a book can make you feel that emotion its worth reading. As i read further into the book I've grown to love and learn the characters (Even T ray even though he's   quite difficult and simpleminded) I cant wait to read more of this amazing book.

Change in Mind

I noticed over the year from 8th grade to 9th grade my genre has changed. I loved the vampire stories and scary stories  in 8th grade but over the few months of high school I've grown to love romantic novels and comedic novels. I really donut understand it maybe i realized it was time to mature and move on from the typical baby books and start reading adult books. So I moved on up to better places! one book I read that changed me was Feed it was such a very interesting book and i really enjoyed reading it and getting to know all the characters.  Some characters are more outgoing than others and I really like that because it shows individuality. Overall this book was great and I definitely want to read more like it!

Crunch Time

In a book i read long ago called Crunch Time It was about a group of college students who stress over this huge test that could make there future or cripple it before it even starts. I like how the story splits up into the different characters and tells there story and there daily life its like the book has its own different personality! Soon the characters meet each other and decided to have this big study group to help each other out and help each other succeed on the test. Soon the study group turns into a cheating scheme that may jeopardize the group of college students even more. i love how the different characters have there own say in the scheme and some are more into it than others and  the ending turns out quite well which i love the most!overall i would give this little book a 4/5 stars because it had Good character displacement and has its own like mini stories in them explaining all the characters. i also love how it goes from sweet and Innocent to hardcore and rough.

Reviews
"I am a parent of an 11 year old who read this for her 6th grade book report. As she was reading she was excited about it and read some of it to me in small pieces. I told her a few times it sounded like something that shouldn't be in the school library. She insisted it was good. She finished the book last night and told me, "It changed my life". How many 11 year olds tell you that? I was amazed. She said it touched her and made her want to be a better person. That is how I came here to Amazon. Any book that has that kind of affect I want to research and get a copy of so I can read it. I want to know what changed my daughters outlook. She said this book replaced 'Where the Red Fern Grows' as her favorite. That is big!'-

Hear my voice! Hear me ROAR!!

Recently in a book I just read (Second time reading just love it so much) it was One Direction:Dare to dream. I remember when I first bought the book it was quite exciting since I was a HUGE fan. I soon picked back up on my obsession and read it all over beginning my Journey all over again. Replaying laughs at there pictures or Awing at there perfect quotes for achieving your dreams. The book is pretty easy to figure out. A band telling there story of gaining fandom but it was more than that to me it was a blog that updated itself page after page updating me on whats happening! It was quite Exciting seeing baby photos of themselves!  Like I said before they're quotes were very insightful and memorable and I shall never forget them! (Still read them over today!) I love this book I really do!

Fahrenheit 451

We started this new book called Fahrenheit 451 I heard very mixed reviews on this book. So I was Delighted to finally get the chance to read it myself, so far how far my class has come upon in the book I have very mixed feelings about it. At first Iwas like "why doesnt this idiot remember killing herself like thats a very serious tramautic thing."; So that made me very angry and hate the book. It quickly redeemed it self slowly but im still very confused with the whole plot of this book and its content. I really love the characters though except mildred she just really annoying and simple-minded I really dispise thoughs kind of people.

Im slowly falling in love with montags character every waking second a so read further on into the book. At first I thought he was just this cocky fireman who was just your average joe. Soon he got developed more in the story and thats how I grow to love him now.
Now captin Beatty is a very stong character and sometimes his confidence can be very annoying and cocky but thats what I love most about him. I esepically like how he took authority of the whole woman burning herself along wiht her books pedemic.

Over too Soon!?

Sadly today was the day we finished Romeo and Juliet Iwas sad to type this but its true! its sadly over! we acted out the last scene for it and guess who was romeo!? Yours truly! Ha Ha. I believe my death was very believable and dramatic. At first I wasn't too excited about reading Romeo and Juliet Cause  cause I thought I wouldn't understand the language they spoke in the play but after reading the sidenotes and the help from my teachers it became more easier till the point I could make correct inferences on my own!

It was really fun when we got ot act out the scenes and I luckily got to be romeo twice! I think the reason why Shakespeare wrote this wonderful play to show how lovers can conquer anything that is thrown at them. It was really suspenseful to see what will happen next! I was really upset on the fact Juliet is suppose to marry Paris. Overall great read I really enjoyed it!
